With Under Two Weeks To Release, Xbox's 'Crackdown 3' Still Looks Abysmal – Forbes

XBOX Games
Crackdown 3IGN/Xbox While I have been known to produce articles that...sometimes have a negative bend to them, I also try not to go overboard in my hyperbole when I can avoid it. But I am not exaggerating when I say that I have not seen a single second of Crackdown 3 footage in the last few years that has looked good, and recent videos are somehow looking even worse as more about the game is revealed. The latest bit of eye-poppingly bad gameplay on display is from Crackdown 3’s multiplayer mode, the one which contains all the “cloud-based destruction” which was supposed to be a staple of the entire game, but was then relegated to multiplayer, and that in turn has turned the mode into...something truly bizarre. I don’t even know how to des...
EA has filed for new Jade Empire trademark – PCGamesN

EA has filed for new Jade Empire trademark – PCGamesN

PC Games
EA has submitted a new trademark application for the Jade Empire franchise, possibly signaling a return of BioWare’s martial arts RPG. The application was submitted January 25. Before we get too excited about the possibility of a new Jade Empire game, it’s important to remember that companies file for trademark applications as a routine matter of maintaining intellectual property rights. EA acquired BioWare in 2007, two years after the Xbox 360-exclusive release of the original Jade Empire. So, it’s entirely possible that EA is simply doing some administrative upkeep on the library of intellectual property it acquired along with BioWare. On the other hand, however, if EA were to make a new Jade Empire game, filing for a trademark would be one of the steps they’d ...

February 3, 2019 4A Games has issued a statement in response to the controversy over a developer’s forum post. Metro Exodus has been the subject of gamer ire since Deep Silver and Koch Media’s surprise announcement that the game would be an Epic Games Store timed exclusive just a month before its launch. Now, a 4A Games developer’s forum post has sparked additional controversy by suggesting that if PC players boycott Exodus over the move away from Steam, the next Metro game might skip PC altogether. A 4A Games developer who goes by ‘scynet’ on the Gaminator forums posted their thoughts about a proposed Metro Exodus boycott over its move from Steam to the Epic Games Store. An English version of his post, translated by Google, contains phrases that have ...

Metro Dev Says Next Game Will Skip PC if Boycotts Continue – Game Rant

PC Games
report this adRecently, Metro Exodus developer 4A Games revealed that its latest installment in the horror and first-person shooter franchise would be exclusively available via the Epic Store. Many, including Steam users, thought this move to be unfair, especially with how “last minute” the decision was. While pre-orders via Steam are being honored, this latest installment won’t be offered on the medium any longer until 2020. In protest of this exclusivity deal, many PC gamers began review-bombing the first two entries of the franchise, Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light. These protests have been respectful for the most part, calling the first two entries great games despite the low score, but they have also called out Deep Silve...

You aren't alone if can't sign into or launch games on Xbox One right now (update) – Windows Central

XBOX Games
Updated February 1, 2019: The sign-in issues appear to have been resolved as of 1.30 PM EST. A few days ago, there was a major Xbox Live outage which resulted in Xbox One consoles connected to the internet refusing to move beyond a black screen. While this was quickly resolved by rolling back a server update, many gamers were disappointed that this occurred to begin with. Ever since that day, Xbox Live hasn't been operating normally and this morning the service was hit by another outage. Right now, a lot of Xbox One owners are stating that they're having trouble signing into their consoles and accessing purchased content. In many cases, the device tells owners to sign into Xbox Live to launch a digital game. This is especially problematic if you game share and can't set your console t...

Golden Knights shuffle forward lines for Panthers game – Las Vegas Review-Journal

Games Review
SUNRISE, Fla. — Gerard Gallant liked what he saw after juggling his forward lines in the third period against Carolina on Friday. The Golden Knights coach liked it so much, he stuck with the combinations Saturday against Florida. “Just a spark, that’s it,” Gallant said. Winger Valentin Zykov, playing his third game with the Knights since he was claimed off waivers Dec. 29, skated alongside center William Karlsson and left wing Jonathan Marchessault. Right wing Reilly Smith joined center Cody Eakin and left wing Brandon Pirri on a revamped third line. “That’s just the point where we’re at right now,” Marchessault said. “(Gallant) gave us all the chance in the world to be successful, and we’re not. Obviously we would like to pl...
